Whether our printing is vegan depends on the printing method and the paper stock used. The inks used on some of our lithographic printing are vegetable-based, but inks used for other print methods may contain animal-derived ingredients.
Which inks are vegan?
Lithographic printing on silk or uncoated paper
The ink used on our Heidelberg XL75 lithographic printer is vegetable-based when printing on silk or uncoated paper. This means the ink and paper combination is suitable for vegan printing, based on the information available.
Printing on gloss paper
Although our lithographic ink is vegetable-based, gloss paper can contain animal-derived products. Therefore, printing on gloss stock cannot be guaranteed to be vegan.
Other printing methods
Inks used with other printing methods, such as iGen and UV printing, may contain animal-derived products. We therefore cannot guarantee that these inks are vegan.
How can I choose a vegan-friendly print option?
If vegan printing is important for your order, consider lithographic printing on silk or uncoated paper. As suitability depends on both the paper stock and printing method, we recommend checking the specific options available for your chosen product before ordering.
